For the Little Seedling Classes

Have a group of children looking for something to do?

Check out our For the Little Seedling class that we offer at Bank of Memories & Flowers.  Bring in your Girl Scout, school or church group to get their hands dirty learning about flowers.  We can customize the class for any age group.  We will tour our historical building and learn the basics about flowers and the floral industry.  At the end of class, each child will create a floral design to take home.  The class cost $10 per person, which includes all the materials and is about an hour long.

Recently, we welcomed Girl Scout Troop 2387 to earn their Flower Arranging Badge.  Here you see the girls having fun learning how to design for the first time!  Owner Melissa Maas was looking for future florist, "I just love to share my excitement and love for flowers.  Hopefully these girls will grow up with a passion for flowers."

Seven Seas Wedding

Sarah and Erik have been a long time customers of Bank of Memories & Flowers.  We actually remember when Erik came in to buy Sarah flowers on their first couple of dates.  So when it came time for finding a florist for their wedding, they knew right where to go.

They where married at Spring Creek Church in Pewaukee, WI.  They had a beautiful romantic wedding filled with ivory, white, champaign and soft pink flowers which included hydrangeas, freesia, lisianthus and roses.

Their reception was at the Seven Seas Restaurant, Hartland.  The Seven Seas is one of the most picturesque wedding spots in all of Wisconsin being located on the East Shore of Nagawicka Lake.

Easter Flowers

Celebrate Easter With Flowers from
Bank of Memories & Flowers!!!!

One of the best ways to celebrate Easter is to fill your home with the color and fragrance of traditional Easter flowers.  Many flowers are associated with Easter, the most common of which is, as the name suggests, the Easter Lily.  The white color of the Easter Lily blossoms is symbolic of purity and renewal.  The trumpet shaped flowers are also believed to symbolize the trumpet of God calling Jesus to return.  At Bank of Memories & Flowers our Easter Lilies are dressed in their "Easter best" compared to those placed in foil.  We carry an assortment of spring nests, butterflies and branches that will surely compliment any decor. The Easter lilies will be arriving at the store this mid-week.

Who says Easter baskets have to be for kids? Why not send a colorful basket of flowers to your favorite relatives, or send one to yourself? A lovely basket full of beautiful flowers not only enhances your home, but also puts you in a springtime mood!!  Our lovely Easter arrangements start at just $39.98 and include this cute bunny as shown!
Wishing you a blessed Easter!

Art In Bloom 2013

Don't miss this years Art in Bloom at the Milwaukee Art Museum from April 11th to 14th, 2013.

Designers from all over Wisconsin and northern Illinois received artwork at random in early January.  Melissa Maas, owner of Bank of Memories & Flowers, has been chosen along with 50 other floral designers.  With the artwork chosen for them, they must interpret their art with flowers. "This year I received On Duty, Not Driving, 2010 by Reginald Baylor. I love this piece because of all the pops of color and the movement of line.  I am honored to interpret a local artist that is also alumni of my college, UW Oshkosh!," Melissa says.  Come see what Melissa creates with this art piece during Art in Bloom.

Calla Lilies and Cymbidium Orchids

Calla Lilies

This showy pure white flower is one of the most sought after  for weddings.  White calla lilies are timeless and  a symbol of elegance.  Its name originates from the Greek word for beauty and magnificence.   Calla lilies are a native flower of southern Africa.  You can find these sleek flowers in shades of burgundy, pink, yellow, blackish purple, orange and classic white.
No matter the time of  year, callas are always available.  This luxurious flower is pricier then others so be prepared to pay a higher than average price for your wedding bouquets.  Here is classic hand tied bouquet of all white calla lilies.

Cymbidum Orchids

Cymbidiums are native to Asia covering Northern India, China, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, the Borneo Islands and North Australia. They usually grow in cooler climates at higher elevations. Cymbidium orchids have thick waxy flowers with five pointed petals on each blossom and come in a rainbow of colors.
Cymbidiums are one of the most popular and desirable flowers in bouquets.  Perhaps it is for it's meaning: wealth, love and beauty.  Pictured below are sweet nosegays filled with all white and lime green cymbidium orchids.

Pink Wedding Flowers

Picking your wedding colors can set the tone of your wedding.  Your colors are a reflection of you and your style.
If you are looking for a soft and romantic feel, pink can do just that.  Here are a few of my favorite softer pink shades.

Adding a simple ribbon "love knot" overlay
on the handle can add a soft whimsical feel.

Kissing balls or also called pomanders are a sweet look
for Junior Bridesmaids or Flowers Girls.

Different shades of roses can pull all your shades of
pink together.  Roses are also a romantic
textural flower that create a softer feel.

Using two miniature garden roses together
for the boutonniere, is a "lighter" way to use roses
instead of one large rose.

Carry the pink theme throughout the entire wedding
by adding a satin ribbon to your invitation.

A new trend for brides is to add a pop of color to your shoes.  I love this because you can shop just about anywhere to find your perfect pair of pink.
