Once the pumpkin is cleaned out (and you have cooked and eaten your delicious pumpkin seeds...) cut your floral oasis to fit snugly inside the pumpkin so it won't move around. Make sure the oasis is fully saturated with water. Now is time to use your creativity! Start by placing your larger flowers in various matching places. Then, fill in the gaps with smaller flowers so that you can no longer see the floral oasis. Once you have finished with your flowers, you can add fun accents like fall leafs! Place your pumpkin arrangement on your table and enjoy it while you eat your candy! Happy Halloween Everyone!

Holy Hill Wedding
Katie and Kyle's Wedding
Katie and Kyle were married right a peak season of fall. All the leaves were in shades of oranges, just like Katie's flowers.
It is always a honor for a bride and groom to be married at the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians at Holly Hill. The 360 degree views are amazing! On a clear day you can see as far as 30 miles. It is also one of the highest spots in southeastern Wisconsin.
I literally felt like I walked into Autumn when I stepped into Katie and Kyle's reception site at the Chandelier Ballroom. Smells of crisp apples filled the air. This couple brought the outside in for their reception. The centerpieces vases were filled with red apples. The flowers were orange gerbera daisies, orange roses, purple stock, rust hypericum berries and fall leaved nestled in between the flowers.
My favorite touch was the birch tree trunk cake with their entails carved in. How sweet is that! Thank you Katie and Kyle for letting us be there on such a special day. Best Wishes!!

Simple touches like ribbon in your theme color and a fresh flower can really make the the space look like your own.
Mini bouquets are the easiest thing for any aged Flower Girl to carry. No mess with petals and she will look cute not matter how she holds it.
Perfect mix of the bride and grooms themed flowers and corsages for the corsages.
Fresh rose petals, red apple and candles lined the wall to the ladies room.

Sweetest Day!
Did you know Saturday, October 19th is already Sweetest Day?!
It continues to be a day to recognize the sick, poor or orphaned, but also to acknowledge someone who has been kind to you by giving them something for being so sweet! As you can see from the picture below, we have gotten in all of our flowers for this fun holiday. Can you spot Marcia, Sue and Sam? (Hint: behind the tower of boxes...)

Pewaukee' s Flower Shop Manager
GET TO KNOW -LUAN KURRIGER
Luan always wanted to be an artist of some sort but thought that would be as an interior designer. While she earning her Bachelors degree in Interior Design, her father started his second career and opened a flower shop, JJ's Floral in Milwaukee. After college, Luan worked part-time with a local interior designer and full time in retail management and purchasing (as well as helping her dad for holidays). When her dad had an opportunity to open second location he asked Luan to run it for him. Even though she had no formal floral design training, she jumped at the chance. Her art and interiors background gave her the basics and she continued learning through design classes and seminars.
After leaving JJ's Floral she worked at several other floral shops in the Milwaukee area, learning from other florists along the way. She joined Bank of Memories & Flowers-Pewaukee in July of 2012 and became manager that following April. She is thrilled with the chance to expand her knowledge of floral design and share that with her customers.
As a florist, Luan feels her greatest privilege is helping her customers with lifes blessings and challenges, from birthdays and weddings to illnesses and funerals. "We use flowers to help convey peoples emotions and I love what I do. As the old saying goes, ' If you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life'."

Burlap and Lace Wedding
Meghan & Josh's Wedding
Reception: Silver Spring Country Club, Menomonee Falls
Florist: Bank of Memories & Flowers
Month: October
Looking through Meghan's wedding file and all of the pictures she sent as her inspiration, I have to admit I was nervous. There was so much detail and little things that made the bouquets and arrangements that I didn't want to mess anything up. I think we did a pretty good job keeping up with expectations, Meghan's mom even said that we did better than any picture could show.
All of the bouquets included hydrangea, garden roses, anemones, ranunculus, green hypericum berries, cream astilbe, plum calls lilies, button mums and carnations. In the brides bouquet (pictured) there were green cymbidium orchids and the groom had a green cymbidium orchid boutonnière.
Mother of the Grooms Corsage
Walking into the ceremony was like walking into a vintage little world, filled with burlap and lace. Everything was gorgeous!

Our Unique September Wedding
Erin and Tyler's Wedding Day
I met Erin about a year and half ago with a few pictures and an idea of vintage fall wedding. I just loved what she said, "Melissa, you just do what you do best. I trust you and what you can do with my organized chaos." From that, Erin and I created some beautiful ideas.
The ceremony at the South Shore Pavilion was amazing. They had a wall of birch branches anchored with a hedge of greens and white hydrangeas. In the branches hung votives of flickering candles and fresh garden roses. The aisle was lined with garden hooks (made by Tyler), mason jars filled with oranges and rust roses hung with satin ribbons.
At Erin and Tyler's reception every detail was thought of to the rustic table numbers to the vintage framed place cards.
This truly was one of my favorite weddings!
