It was a wonderful day, delivering and servicing Anna and Nick's wedding at the West Bend Country Club.  It brought back so many amazing memories for me.  Six years ago, my husband and I were married at this very same venue, at this same time of year.  I can't believe how time flies.

For her wedding, Anna chose a simple palette of white, pops of plum, and grey accents, which gave the flowers a elegant feel.  White hydrangeas and white garden roses gave the bouquets a romantic base for the plum callas and dianthus, and the grey brunia berries added a touch of class.  A special floral tribute was made and placed on a empty chair, in memory of the bride's father, who had passed.  It was a simple, but touching way to honor him.
The ceremony flowers were all re-purposed for the reception, and they looked amazing.  The unity candle piece was used on the mantle, and the pew decorations and bridesmaids bouquets were used on the tables and around the room.

Erin & Travis

Erin and Travis didn't want to have the "typical" October wedding of fall colors and flowers.  They chose instead to use bright colors to match their fun personalities.  And they chose to be married in one of our favorite churches, the chapel at St. John's Military Academy.  It's English Gothic stone interior and beautiful rose window makes the chapel a beautiful ceremony location.

Erin selected flowers that would pop, since the bridesmaids dresses were a bright pink.  We designed her bouquet to have lots of color and texture which included pink stargazer lilies, orange mini calla lilies, celosia, and pin cushion proteas, magenta gladiola blossoms, purple stock, lime green button mums and hypericum berries finished with seeded eucalyptus.  Her bridemaids and flower girl carried smaller versions of Erin's bouquet. 

The gentlemen of the wedding party wore a single orange mini calla.  Travis's boutonniere featured an accent of a hot pink spray rose and green hypericum berry.  The mothers and grandmothers wore wrist corsages on rhinestone bands with a mix of orange and hot pink spray roses and green berries.

Because the chapel is so ornate, the only decor the couple chose for the church were pew decorations. Hanging vases of white hydrangeas and stargazer lilies lined both sides of the aisle, tied with bright pink satin ribbons.  After the ceremony, we transferred these vases  to the reception hall at the Golden Mast, where we placed two hanging vases into antique sewing drawers for half of the tables.  We added orange and hot pink rose petals to the remainder of the dining tables and cocktail tables.

We had so much fun working with Erin and Travis and were proud to be a part of their special day.  Congratulations from all of us at Bank of Memories & Flowers, Pewaukee!!

Green & White: The Wedding Trend at Pewaukee

Every year the trend changes for wedding flowers. This year was the year of the radiant orchid. Before that it was yellow and grey, and along the way mint also topped the popularity charts.  Not at the Pewaukee Bank of Memories.  This summer, four brides chose to combine white and green  flowers for the bouquets on their wedding day.

The first of the four couples, Stephanie and Jeremy, chose to have an intimate wedding that was rustic, earthy and simple and also included "good food" (Jeremy picked The Butler Inn, Pewaukee).  Stephanie chose to use green hydrangeas and white mini calla lilies for her bouquet, as well as her bridesmaids'.  She brought her own ribbon to us: a beautiful white and champagne brocade.  The gentlemen of the wedding party each sported a single calla lily and the ladies wore wrist corsages to match. 

The second couple was Richanda and Kris who desired an understated classic and vintage feel for their wedding at the Country Springs Hotel in Pewaukee.  The bridesmaids wore a light aqua dress and Richanda chose white and green flowers for her bouquets. White hydrangeas, white roses, and babies breath were used in the bridesmaids' bouquets and then green succulents were added to the brides bouquet -- magnificent!  The gentlemen each wore succulents as a bouttoniere and the ladies wore wrist corsages of babies breath and white roses.

The third couple, Maria and James, also held their wedding at the Country Springs Gazebo and the Meadowbrook room.  The white hydrangeas, white freesia, green gladiola blooms and green hypericum berries popped against the bridesmaids' aubergine dresses.  Maria added white peonies to her bouquet.  The color scheme carried through to the white freesia boutonnieres and wrist corsages with white spray roses, freesia and green hypericum berries.

And last but not least, Susan and Seth went for a rustic look with babies breath and burlap.  Their ceremony was held at St. Jacobi Congregational Church, a beautiful church built in Richfield in the 1800's.  Susan carried a full bouquet of white hydrangeas collared by babies breath and greens, while her granddaughter, her only attendant, carried a matching but smaller bouquet. Both bouquets were wrapped in burlap and twine. The men in the bridal party each wore a white rose, accompanied by some babies breath and wrapped in twine. The Susan's daughter wore a wrist corsage to match which also had a twine bow. Susan made her own pew cones out of burlap which then held masses of white babies breath.

Each of these weddings made use of the wonderful white and green color combination, yet each contained a different bridesmaid dress color and variation of flower types used in the bouquets, boutineers and corsages. And each was absolutely beautiful in its own unique way!

We loved working with each of these four couples and we thank them for trusting Bank of Memories in Pewaukee to provide the flowers for such a momentous occasion. Congratulations to all of you -- we wish each of you a long and happy wedded life!
