Boerner Botanical Garden Wedding

Ryan+Alison = Wedding Day

Reception:  Boerner Botanical Gardens, Hales Corners
Month: June

This color combination is one of my all time favorites!  I keep looking at the pictures from this wedding and analyzing why I love everything so much.  I think its the color, the style of the event, and Bank of Memories & Flowers arrangements, but its also because of our gorgeous couple, Ryan and Alison.

Alison's vision was to combine elements of petal-rich florals in saturated tones of peach, ivory, and white.  The flowers included peonies, elegant garden roses, peach hypericum berries, dusty miller, spray roses and seeded eucalyptus.

The picture below is of the beautiful bride along with owner Melissa Maas, waiting to help fluff her dress before her dad walks her down the aisle. This is one of our favorite parts. Its quite an emotional experience.

Here are some beautiful pictures from the reception!!  How cool is this candy table?!?

We transfer the unity candle to the head table.  What an elegant touch!!

Personalized Sympathy Arrangement

A few weeks ago a customer came into the Pewaukee Bank of Memories & Flowers to purchase a sympathy arrangement for her mother.  She did not want a typical funeral piece, she requested a replica of her dog, her mother's favorite!  We definitely did not want to disappoint her.

We started with a basic form constructed out of oasis foam and then whittled down the foam to create the shape.  At this point it looked like a green sphinx.

The form was then soaked in water in order to keep the flowers hydrated for as long as possible.  The ladies called it the dog wash!

White carnations were used for the entire body and the ears were white fuji mums.  Painted rocks were used for the eyes and nose and a yellow bow and ribbon for the collar and "leash".

Although difficult to construct, it taught us a few new techniques that we can use on other projects.  If you have a request for a unique personalized tribute, do not hesitate to give us a call.  We at Bank of Memories & Flowers will make every effort to realize your ideas.

Vibrant Kalanchoes!

House plants are the ultimate home accessory, adding color to any space!  I have had kalanchoe plants and I absolutely love these beautiful flowers.
Kalanchoes are succulent plants and don't like much water, so checking the plant every 7 days to feel for moisture works really well.  The plant is extremely drought tolerant, and if you make a mistake and underwater, this is the most forgiving plant I know. Don't be afraid to trim the plant back if the stems look dried out. This way it will get bigger and healthier looking.
Kalanchoes do best with lots of bright light. At Bank of Memories & Flowers, we always have these beautiful plants in stock in any color imaginable. They make wonderful gifts!
