The American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society is celebrating their Christmas Fantasy House November 3-11, 2012.  This beautiful home is located in Brookfield, WI.  You have a change to tour it; advanced tickets are $18 or $20 at the door.

When you open the door, you will be inspired and filled with the spirit of Christmas.  Be sure to stop by the lower level of the home to see our Bank of Memories & Flowers  decorated Christmas tree.  "This tree has turned out to be one of my all time favorite.  The tree is full of burlap, birds and beautiful satin teal ribbon," owner Melissa Maas expresses.  You can have a chance to win this donated tree by purchasing raffle tickets at the home.  All the money raised by the Fantasy House will go to the local American Cancer Society.

Sweetest Day

Sweetest Day is Valentine's Day's half-birthday!! This year, be the sweetest one around and have Sweetest Day flowers delivered this Saturday, October 20th.  Let that special someone in your life know how much you care or just show your friends and family that you are thinking of them.   Sweetest Day is a day to give thanks for those extra-sweet people in your life.

It is a holiday celebrated primarily in the Great Lakes region, and parts of the Northeast United States.  The holiday actually originated with a candy store owner who wanted to bring cheer and some happiness to the lives of those who were forgotten.

Stop in to pick up a thoughtful gift, chocolates, blooming plant or fresh flowers! We would love to make something up for your sweetie!!

Silver Spring Country Club Wedding

Katie and Joe were such a wonderful bride and groom to work with. You can tell they were so excited for their wedding day.  They were married this September on the roof top of Silver Spring Country Club in Menomonee Falls and the reception was in their main hall.  And Yes!!!! they had an amazing time...I should know from all her friends and family that were still having a great time on the dance floor at midnight when I came back to clean up for them. I wanted to hit the floor myself!

I loved how they chose the clean simple look of all gray suites and bridesmaid dresses with the big pop of yellow gerbera daisies.

Crushing on Celosia

We use celosia as much as possible when in season (June to November) because of its fuzzy texture. Early fall is when this flower is the easiest to get in. It catches your eye and makes you want to touch it! Celosia offers large flower clusters on top of green or reddish leaves. Colors include yellow, gold, red, pink, orange, and wine. Velvety crested types are rippled, whereas others are shaped like plums or spikes. We have found that celosia can thrive for weeks after being cut. They do drink a lot of water so always make sure to recut the stems and put in fresh water.

At Bank of Memories & Flowers, celosia plays a big part in our weddings. Their unique and exotic flower will bring to your wedding an unforgetable beauty. We anticipate that celosia will show in many more centerpieces, bouquets, corsages and boutonnières. Stop in to see our wide assortment of celosia today!
