Inside Look Of Our Veil Shoot

If you haven't picked up your Veil magazine, here is an inside look on one of the fantasy weddings featured in the magazine.  Bank of Memories & Flowers was honored to be paired up with such leading wedding vendors in the Milwaukee Metro area.

It was very exciting to see all the vendors come together to create a beautiful theme.  Every element was playing off the architectural lines and colors from the linens.  The shoot took about 2 hours to capture all the details.  At one moment I thought my flowers were going to set on fire because a candle was lit too close to the arrangement.  Every one was yelling "get the shot, get the shot!"

This was the first time I had seen what it takes to get one of these shoots in place from setting up the lights to making sure each place setting is polished.  We hope you are inspired by fantasy weddings like we are in wedding magazines.  It is fun to be different and out of the box; it can really get your guest talking.

Fall Color Wedding

Congrats to Martie and Mike!!!

At Bank of Memories & Flowers we are into cozy, comfortable, and rustic things.  So..you might guess, we're partial to Autumn flowers.

This past weekend my husband and I attended our friends Mike and Martie's wedding at their home in Pewaukee. Her color scheme was all about the soulful palettes, like the deep reds, oranges and yellow-golds, and this scheme was embraced with her flowers as well. Burgundy celosia, vibrant gold sunflowers, craspedia balls, and rust calla lilies were the key items in her bouquet along with lime green hydrangeas and red and orange gerbera daisies.

Martie brought in her own mason jars for Bank of Memories & Flowers to arrange flowers for table centerpieces.  The bear grass shooting out the sides and the curly willow for height was the perfect touch to make their appearance look larger on the long tables.  They were the hit of the night!  Martie had an awesome idea to cut burlap for the table runners, and it looked great as well, and a sure compliment for the flowers!

Before the ceremony started, guests were asked to take a rock from a pile and after the ceremony they were told to make a wish for the couple and put their rock into a wire container for the bride and groom to use as a decorative piece in their home. It was such a cool idea! It was such a fun wedding, and it was the start of Fall colors to be brought out in weddings, we can't wait!

Ball Mason Jar Wedding

Josh and Alison's Wedding Day

Josh and Alison are near and dear to my heart, Josh Ball is my cousin and Alison was a teacher at my son's daycare.  I had the great honor to do their wedding flowers and my children were the flower girl and ring bearer.

Josh and Alison have a wonderful story.  Josh surprised Alison with a wedding proposal at her daycare.  While Alison was pulled out her classroom; Josh got the 2 and 3 year old children ready with diamond ring necklaces and a signs that said "Will you marry me?" He awaited her answer on one knee, she of course said "Yes!!!"

Alison and Josh were married under a beautiful arbor of yellow roses, alstromerium, pin cushion protea, miniature garden roses and mums.  They wanted to embrace their last name with Ball Mason jars filled with vibrant yellow flowers as their centerpieces.

Grandparent's Day

In 1978, President Jimmy Carter dedicated the first Sunday after Labor Day as National Grandparents Day. This is a day to celebrate the love and kindness that only grandparents can give. You can easily return this love to them by taking time out of your busy schedule to pick up a gerbera daisy bouquet, only $34.98, and hand delivering it to them. While you're there, take the time to listen to your grandparent's stories. They have been through so much and we are sure they would love to share some of their wisdom with you! We also have a bunch of gorgeous red begonias for $19.98 that will flower and bloom to remind your grandparents how much you care.
