Unique Sympathy Designs

Some things can't be fixed, but sometimes just knowing that someone is thinking of you can help.

Lately, I've had a lot of people ask me about beautiful, non-traditional pieces for funerals. One of which was for my husband's uncle.  His family chose to go through Bank of Memories & Flowers, which was such an honor for me to design all of the pieces. His uncle was an avid gardner, so we chose bright and cheery flowers verses doing all white or pastels.

At Bank of Memories & Flowers, we are constantly creating lovely tributes to people who have passed. Flowers are always a wonderful way to express feelings and to extend a gesture of comfort to those who have lost a loved one. When sending flowers or even plants, you are sending a message of support and respect for a life well lived.

If you have a funeral you want to send flowers to and are unsure of what to send, let Bank of Memories & Flowers help guide you in what is likely a very sad and difficult time.

Sometime Color is EVERYTHING!

Becky+Andy's Wedding

Ceremony:  The Somerset Room, Country Springs Hotel, Pewaukee
Reception:  The Meadowbrook Room, Country Springs Hotel, Pewaukee
Month: October

This winter has been so long and grey.  We all need a dose of color to remind us that we will have spring and summer again.  The wedding of Becky and Andy this past October is a wonderful example of the colors we have been missing!

Becky and Andy’s inspiration was a rainbow colored wedding.  Everything in the wedding followed this theme, from the bridesmaid’s bouquets and groomsmen’s boutonnieres to the vased single flowers on top of the fireplace and the table runners at their reception.

Each of Becky’s bridesmaids wore a black dress of their choosing and carried a hand tied bouquet with flowers of a single color, red, orange, yellow, green, blue or purple.   Each bouquet was slightly different from the next due to the availability of flowers for each color.    The red, orange and yellow bouquets were carnations, roses, gerbera daisies, and gladiola blooms. The green bouquet was made with hydrangea, fuji mums, carnations, hypericum berries and gladiola blooms.  The blue bouquet included hydrangea, iris, delphinium and dyed gladiola blooms whereas the purple bouquet consisted of hydrangea, stock, carnations and glad blooms. Becky carried a bouquet of hot pink roses with rhinestones added to each rose blossom.

Their ceremony took place in the Somerset Room at Country Springs Hotel in Pewaukee.  The room faces a wonderful fireplace where we placed clear vases with a single flower of each color alternating with a votive candle. At either side of the aisle a simple white pew bow was adorned with gladiola blooms of each color, one color per set of bows.

Bank of Memories & Flowers would like to wish Becky and Andy a future together that is as colorful as their wedding day!

"Fall" in LOVE with this Wedding

Jessica+Quinn's Wedding Day

Month: September

We were so thrilled to help Jessica and Quinn with their wedding this past September.   The bright and vibrant color scheme was in every detail of this wedding.  The bride carried a beautiful cascade bouquet of orange Asiatic lilies, mini green hydrangeas, orange “voodoo” roses with touches of purple stock and veronica.  These same bright colors popped against the bridesmaids’ regal purple dresses.

The color scheme was used throughout the day, from the flowers in the unity candle and pew bows at the church to the centerpieces at the reception.  Jessica and Quinn chose to have 2 styles of centerpieces for their tables, low and compact as well as tall and dramatic. Both styles of centerpieces included orange lilies, purple statice, and mini green hydrangea and were surrounded by multiple votive candles.

They even used these flowers for the wedding cake, a decadent chocolate ganache confection which we added tucks of coordinating flowers to different layers of the cake as well as the top.  At the head table the unity candle was used as a centerpiece for the bride and groom and attached to the skirt of the table a handmade sign for the new Mr. & Mrs. The final touch to the Grand Salon at the Country Springs Hotel was the uplighting used by the DJ, it was the perfect accent to finish the ambiance.

We wish to congratulate both Jessica and Quinn and wish them every happiness for their future.

Beautiful Shamrock Plants!

Just like McDonald's shamrock shake, Bank of Memories & Flower's shamrock plants are a sign St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner!

The three sided clovers of Irish folklore are believed to bring good luck. The care of your indoor shamrock plant is quite basic. Water it at least once every 10-14 days, often enough to keep the soil evenly moist but not too wet. Keep your plant in bright indirect light at a daytime temperature no warmer than 75 degrees and cooler at night about 65 degrees. Fertilize once a month for best results and enjoy!
