Custom Funeral Flowers

Flowers are a perfect way to pay tribute to the deceased at the service.  They provide a voice for many people like myself who have difficulty finding the right words of consolation during a time of loss.

I truly love designing funeral arrangements.  It sounds a bit strange, but I feel that flowers can play a role in the grieving process.  Many times when I am at a funeral, flowers are what brightens a sad and somber environment.  Floral tributes create a topic of conversation and have a soothing quality.  Sympathy flowers show that you cared about the deceased or his or her family.  Looking back when my grandpa passed, it was very comforting to see an abundance of floral arrangements at the viewing.  It made me feel very loved during a time of sadness.

If you are looking for custom arrangements and expertise, please do not hesitate to stop into Bank of Memories & Flowers.  We would be honored to help in any way we can.

Ceremony: St. Peter-Paul Catholic Church
Reception: The Grain Exchange
Photographer:  Front Room
Florist: Bank of Memories & Flowers
Wedding Planner: Parties Etc., Chicago
Linens:  BBJ Linens
Month: January

It is pretty amazing to see a brides vision unfold between your eyes.  As a florist, it's euphoria when you exceed their expectations!!

As I think back on Sarah and Ryan Buck's wedding story, I remember Sarah standing in the front lobby, she was stunning in her lace wedding gown of St. Peter Paul church.  She beaming with excitement to see her groom.  Both were so excited to get their party started.

One of my favorite moments from the day was when Sarah and Ryan entered their reception before any of their guest to see their vision come to life.

The towering centerpieces were filled with over 3 dozen ivory roses, gray brunia and 45 hydrangeas!  Birch branches extended out the top making each these stunning arrangement over 8 feet tall.

The other guest tables had a lush arrangement filled with ivory hydrangeas, roses, lisianthus, gray brunia and succulents.  Hundreds of unique mercury votives filled the space with candle light.

The Bucks, carried their last name into all elements of their wedding,
from the personal lighted logo that illuminated the grand reception area,
to the deer antlers used in the floral decor in the entryway table.

Even in the last minutes leading up to midnight, Sarah and Ryan guests filled the dance floor not wanting the night to end.  Thank you to Sarah and Ryan for letting us be a part in their wedding and sharing these beautiful photos with our readers.

Kristie & Jason, Wedding on the Lake

Ceremony and Reception: Seven Seas-Lakeside Terrace
Florist: Bank of Memories & Flowers
Month: June

Kristie had a clear vision of her wedding theme, rustic and woodsy. She even came supplied with her own burlap containers, wood slices and mason jars.  It was up to the designers at Bank of Memories & Flowers to help her turn her vision to reality.

Kristie's bouquet was a lovely mix of white flowers; hydrangeas, peonies, and mini calla lilies, mini green hydrangeas and hypericum berries as well as blue thistle, blue delphinium and succulents.  Her bouquet was wrapped in burlap and twine, a continuous look for the whole wedding.  Her bridesmaids, dressed in Marine blue, carried smaller matching bouquets with more green flowers added to them.

The gentlemen of the wedding party wore a white mini calla lily with a blue delphinium blossom, the groom's featured an addition of green hypericum berries. All stems, of course, wrapped in twine.

Kristie had seen pomanders as a backdrop for a ceremony and wanted to create this unique feature in baby's breath and greens. It helped to set a stage for the couples ceremony.

Three different centerpieces were chosen for the reception tables. Three mason jars filled with baby's breath were set on top of the wood slice as one setting.  Burlap containers were used for the other two settings, one featuring a lush variegated ivy plant and the other designed with white and mini green hydrangeas and seeded eucalyptus.

It was a beautiful summer day on the lake and we want to wish Kristie and Jason many many more beautiful days on the lake in their future.
